The Letcher County Sheriff Department is dedicated too making our children safe. Our Child Identification program was started in 2004 and since then we have provided child fingerprinting and informational cards for thousands of children.
The state of art equipment was provided through funds received through the Drug Forfeiture Program. This allows the Letcher Sheriff Department to provide this service at no cost to the individuals.
The Letcher Sheriff Department has joined other laws enforcement agencies across the United States in the Program Child Project
What To Do If Your Child Is Missing
1. Act Quickly
2. Call The Sheriffs Department at 633-2293
3. If you have a child safe card give it to a deputy
4. Alert friends, neighbors, and relatives
5. Check your Childs favorite play areas, have someone else check them again.
